Release Date: January 9th, 2018

Need an anime in your life that’ll make you question your buying methods? How about a plot that makes almost no damn sense? Or do you not care about characters, story progression, nor any other details and want to see the characters mostly die out every other episode? Well, boy howdy, does Maiden Japan have the show just for you! Learn how to rush your story with all the finesse of a raging rhino with KISSDUM-R Engage Planet. Many thanks to Section23 for the review unit.

The world can be a scary place now that the Hadeans have arrived. Humankind must face this new threat the best they can. The only one who can save humanity is the Necrodiver. His journey begins with his death and the death of his companions. As time goes on, he must fight the Hadean threat more and more. Find out more by watching the show!

Or you can save yourself the time and just not bother with KISSDUM-R Engage Planet unless you really, really want to. Let me preface this with the fact that the storyline is actually interesting. The character backstories are fleshed out enough to make them likable. The premise of the show is great and if it weren’t in the form of this anime, I think I would be highly likely to engorge myself on such media.

However, this anime known as KISSDUM-R Engage Planet is horribly, horribly rushed. The storyline could easily have been fifty or more episodes. Three episodes worth of content crushed into one every time. With such a rushed plotline, the entire story falls to pieces quickly and makes the entire series fall short. It’s a shame, because if they gave you time to get to know the characters, perhaps the constant killing would actually prick your heart the way they intended. Instead, it’s “Oh, another mass killing… unenthusiastic yay!” every other episode.

For the suggested retail price of $89.98 on the Sentai Filmworks store (currently priced at sixty bucks), I would personally stay away from this series save for archival reasons. With no manga series or otherwise to properly flesh out the series, it’s not the best anime to buy for nearly ninety (or even sixty) bucks. Wait for a big sale. If you can deal with the story being as rushed as it is, you’ll enjoy KISSDUM-R Engage Planet. Just don’t expect more out of it.

Lolinia gives KISSDUM-R Engage Planet a Drastik Moé Measure of 3.7 out of 10.0 (37).
