The world of hentai games and novels are a breed that tend to set themselves apart by the content offered alone, sometimes they can have a good story to back them up, and others, not so much. In this case, not so much is the wording I would choose for Cum on! Bukkake Ranch!. Cum on! Bukkake Ranch! is a fantasy monster girl hentai adventure game that was made by sealhouse-soft and later released by MangaGamer, where you are forced to make love with 4 elementals in order to not be killed, and with some good characters, solid character development, and interesting systems to boot, this hentai game feels fresh – but falls flat in many areas.

To explain the story Bukkake Ranch has to offer is easy to sum up and yet also tricky to explain in that same regard. We, the player, follow through the eyes of Erogelsus, an alchemist who comes from a bloodline of master alchemists. Because of this, our alchemist friend has 4 elementals at his side, one for each element of fire, water, earth and air. All seems fine and dandy until one morning at breakfast, Korin the earth elemental reports that her security wall has been smashed by a demon known as Muma. As Erogelsus and the four elementals go outside and prepare to engage, Muma’s power weakens the elementals, putting Erogelsus in threat of danger. It is here we are told that Muma is a queen of demons and as such, is a powerful succubus – but due to her lack of any sex appeal, she has no trace of respect or dignity with her peers and has now sought out Erogelsus to create an item known as the Slut’s Stone, a stone of great power that can only be forged by the purest traces of elements by sexually pleasuring them. Erogelsus, forced into a corner, agrees to make Muma the stone if only to keep his life as if he fails, harm will find him and not in a pleasant way. I’ll end the story segment here as the rest of the tale is small, but this story has a good number of issues that need to be brought up.

As I stated at the end of the last paragraph, Bukkake Ranch has a fair number of issues I want to bring up, some being minor and others, more severe. The first minor issue I want to bring up is the story and how it feels less vital to the overall game. A story is like a quilt, knitted together to bring a group of items together into one package, and unify the overall final product – but here, it feels like the threads are loose and not worth caring over. The story has its merits, like setting up the main plot effectively, but after that it feels more like a sidekick. My other minor concern comes in the form of Muma as a villain character. A villain character can take a bad story and make it great by offering the hero or main character a challenge; however, the challenge Muma puts up seems more like greed then an actual challenge. This whole goal of seeking the Slut’s Stone in order to become more powerful feels like a tacked on addition at the last minute rather than a well designed gimmick for Erogelsus. Finally, my major issue with the story is how overall lackluster the story feels to the player. As a player, the story is only a portion of the game, and to some people, story is a such a minor thing that this may not bother them, but the lackluster feel of the story felt disappointing to me as I was hoping to see a reason to fear Muma.

Time to dash through the woods before getting it on with some elementals as the systems created for Bukkake Ranch are interesting and odd at the same time. These systems are vital to the game so I will discuss each one to the best of my ability without going crazy in depth. The first system to speak of is the Breeding Barn, or training system, this is where all the major hentai scenes will take place, and it all goes down with three different milking options. Your goal is to milk the girls enough to get the Ero Ore of that element, and you have three different options to do this with; Pleasure, Service, or Shame. You will explore all options though, as the game does require the items received from each act to proceed farther into the crafting system in the game. This is required for each elemental, and it is honestly interesting to see these girls go from a scared perspective, to a more open one as you progress farther into the training. This system blends heavily into our next system though – the crafting system. In Bukkake Ranch, you have to gather materials from three different types of locations, as well as from the Breeding Barn to craft new items to make progress on making the Slut’s Stone, alongside a number of other items to help appease Muma at the end of each day. These items are cleverly named after various parts such as Women Wood, Boob Stones, and even items related to the elementals like Harpy Eggs from Papy, the wind elemental, which can only be earned through the acts in the Breeding Barn. This mechanic is your bread and butter for Bukkake Ranch, as crafting will be vital to keeping Muma pleased with you as you work with the girls one at a time. There is one more use of this particular mechanic, triggering certain cutscenes; when crafting certain new items, you can trigger a special cutscene. These scenes, while only on a few items to my knowledge, are unique and a nice twist for the game.

The last major system from the gameplay is called the Demon Queen’s Super-Selfish Time, and if there was one mechanic I can not stand, it is this one. This mechanic has only one use, to keep you on your toes and crafting during the time it takes to get the Ero Ores from the girls, which ultimately cost you more resources, and drawing the game out longer than needed. This is why working with the girls and gathering the various materials becomes so important, just to please Muma and not get a game over if she gets in a bad enough mood. This mechanic, while I felt it could have worked if they gave you more time for it to take place before punishing you while having to gather the materials, I wish they would have reworked this mechanic to be similar to the Alchemist of Arland series on the PS3, where you are given a certain amount of time to gather enough product to make a certain item or amount of items.

In terms of visuals, Bukkake Ranch is done in a animated style, both with its art and music that is simple but detailed enough that it doesn’t feel tired and overdone. Visually, the game utilizes two forms of art style that while they are separate uses, feeling nicely integrated without being tacky. The first form is what I feel is the norm for animated games or novels currently, simple but clean in style but allowing for good facial detail when it is needed most for the various hentai scenes the game offers. The second form is their chibi form, used when gathering materials in the 3 main areas, as well as when you are making a item. This style, while used limitedly, did not feel out of place like I thought it would. They used it in so few spots that where it is used, it feels very refreshing for a change of pace. The backgrounds tend to stick to the first style, very simple in structure and detail, but with enough there to make the scenes interesting. Lastly is the characters art which to me, was okay, but I felt – other than the face detail – it was too stiff with body motion. The characters do, for the most part, feel well animated but then the hentai scenes come around and they go into these stiff and awkward poses; they feel like they were being painted. Maybe it is just me but the poses felt too stiff to match the event going on in most cases.

Musically, Bukkake Ranch is a mix of traditional styles and non-traditional styles that, while it becomes a good listen at first, I found became unmemorable as a soundtrack. The soundtrack itself is a very nice mix of elements from all over the musical scope, ranging anywhere from piano tones with some wind and trumpet sidenotes, to more modern tones with guitar and drum; but as there as only three or 4 areas you will go commonly in the game, these songs quickly become repetitive and stale. The sound effects suffer the same issues as the soundtrack here, they are nice and original for the first few listens, but as you will hear them over and over, they become repetitive and dulled down. I found the one redeeming area of the musical area was actually the voice work for the female characters. These voices made each of the scenes they were used in feel more realistic, something I felt the game did good with as an overall venture.

Overall, I found Cum on! Bukkake Ranch! to be an alright game with a few good redeeming factors such as the characters, their development in the game, and the in depth crafting system just to name a few. However, the game is heavily marred by small things that just make the game less fun and interesting as it goes on. The well setup main story plot, solid character development in the story, combination of three intertwined systems, deep and detailed crafting system, good use of two types of visual styles per situation, well animated characters for the most part, interesting music mix for soundtrack, and well done voice acting for the characters make for an interesting premise of a game that doesn’t work to its full potential.

  • Story feels like an afterthought in long term
  • Main villian character acts more out of greed then evil intent
  • Story lacks the luster its introduction leads it on to have
  • The Breeding Barn loses interest after the first few uses with each elemental
  • While in depth, the crafting system felt like a chore after a while
  • The amount of item grinding to get to a good state in the game
  • Demon Queen’s Super-Selfish Time felt more like a punishment to the player
  • While well animated, the poses the girls do in some hentai scenes feel very stiff and blocky
  • The soundtrack repeats far too much as you play
  • Music due to this repeating can become more annoying than memorable
  • Sound effects suffer same fate as the music, too much overuse with not many there

For the cost of $24.95 on MangaGamer, I can only seriously recommend this title to those who have a monster girl attraction, as this game focuses heavily around that element, or those who want a challenge with some solid hentai scenes as a reward, as the amount of work you will put in to see many of the better scenes as they are locked behind some heavy doors.
